THE EVOLUTION OF S2S

The Conception

We're two sisters who experienced the challenges of moving from NYC to the suburbs without the proper guidance or resources. This inspired us to become real estate agents with the mission of helping others find their place in the Northern NYC suburbs.

Over the years, we supported many buyers in relocating and purchasing a home in Westchester County, NY and lower Fairfield County, CT, and learned some important insights along the way.

The Realization

For the majority of our clients, the neighborhood discovery process started years before they were ready to buy a home. During this period, it took a distinct set of resources to support them in navigating the many unique factors that determined their ideal neighborhood.

Through this experience, we realized that the home buying journey consists of two distinct discovery processes: finding your neighborhood and finding your home.

We recognized a gap that needed to be filled, which led to the evolution of our mission.


Paired with changes in the real estate industry and the evolving digital landscape, we stepped out of our shoes as agents and transformed Steps to Suburbia into a space dedicated solely to the neighborhood discovery process.
